The Guelph Girls Hockey Association accepts their responsibility to children, young adults, parents, volunteers and staff involved in its program and is committed to our policy to support the provision of a sound, safe and healthy hockey experience in our community. Where to find hockey clinics

The GGHA is offering the following hockey clinics:

The GGHA has reserved spots for members, but please do not delay. These clinics are posted province wide and will fill up quickly.

For GGHA coaches or trainers only, the GGHA will automatically reimburse the cost of certification upon successful completion of the clinic we run.

You can also sign up with any association (girls or boys) that offer them. If you go to another association you must pay the full cost of your certification yourself, but may then apply for reimbursement as indicated below.

Reimbursement policy

Team staff who fully meet the GGHA's requirements and are awarded positions within our association will be reimbursed the following amounts for the cost of their certfication:

  • 50% - New NCCP & HTCP certifications
  • 100% - Prevention Services, NCCP/HTCP refresher

To receive your reimbursement, please complete this form and mail this form along with receipts for all certification attained, to the address on the form.

3. Complete and submit a Team Staff Application form

All GGHA Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Trainers and Managers must complete and submit a Team Staff Application. In addition, as per the GGHA's volunteer screening policy, all successful applicants will be subject to a Police Records Check.

4. Meet with Coach Selection Committee

The GGHA Coach Selection Committee consists of knowledgeable hockey people from outside the Board and association, such as coaching staff from the University of Guelph Gryphons women's hockey team. They conduct standard, formal interviews and evaluate all rep head coach candidates on the basis of their experience and knowledge of the game. In the case of house league head coaches, a less formal interview involving appointed board members may take place with first-time candidates.

Successful head coaches may appoint their own team staff upon completion of the first three steps outlined above.
